New QMJHL Award
The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, (QMJHL) is set to announce a new annual trophy. The trophy is said to be named after the legendary Patrick Roy and is to be given to the league's best goalie on an annual basis. This has been confirmed by the Quebec-based TVA Nouvelles.
" Commissioner Mario Cecchini will confirm this during a press conference organized on the sidelines of the Quebec Remparts game on Sunday, before which the champion banners of the Gilles-Courteau Trophy and the Memorial Cup will be raised. Roy will also be there."
Roy Still Has It
Despite his lengthy absence from the NHL, Roy has remained involved in Hockey. In the 18-19 season he took on the head coach role for his hometown Quebec Ramparts, a position he has held since then. He is also a co-owner of the team and serves as their general manager.

Last season Roy was able to rally his team to their first Memorial Cup Championship since 2006. For Roy, this is yet another remarkable achievement to add on to his already impressive career which included Stanley Cup championships, Vezina trophies, Conn Smythe trophies, and many more.
