Carey Price has played his entire career in Montreal. Now, he has opened up about potentially being traded from the Canadiens.

Price Reveals Whether or Not He Would Waive His NTC If Approached With A Potential Trade

Carey Price has stated that he won't play another game in the NHL, despite not formally announcing a retirement. His knee injury keeping him from suiting up will also keep him on LTIR with the Canadiens since he has 2 years left on his contract.

Price recently opened up about whether or not he would be willing to waive his NTC in order to help the Canadiens and their cap space.

"For sure, any way I can help now" said Price as per NHL.com when asked if he would waive his no-move clause. "I'm still a part of the team and if I can help in any way, I'm here."

This may not seem like a huge deal, since Price isn't likely to play for any team he would be traded to. However, it would have a huge sentimental impact, since Price has never played for another team other than the Canadiens, and would likely end his career, at least on paper, with another team.

I am going thru that wave of emotion, the reckless spiral of missing Carey Price. He was so comforting. #GoHabsGo

Kent Hughes Now Tasked With Moving Price's Contract Soon To Help The Canadiens Make the Next Step

The Canadiens are on the precipice of being a true Stanley Cup-contending team, and moving Price's contract could be the final piece that gives them the room to make something happen. Kent Hughes will now be tasked with moving the contract, which could prove to be difficult.

Never would have imagined that Carey Price's contract (LTIR) would factor in as a major contributor to the Habs future. Hughes also has 3 more years to actually trade his contract and bring back even more draft capital! The gift that keeps on giving! Go Kent Go
