According to NHL Insider Renaud Lavoie, the team's latest offer for Zegras is between the $3M and $4M range, a long way from what many expected the number to look.
Despite being just 22-years of age, Zegras has three solid seasons in the NHL under his belt, with his 2022-23 campaign being his most consistent, as he tallied 23 goals and 65 points in 81 games, and as he grows and learns, he'll continue improving in a big way.
With teams like the Buffalo Sabres reportedly interested in Zegras, the Ducks will have to do much better if they want No. 11 to stick around, even if it's on a bridge deal, but right now, that won't get it done, so this situation could get interesting in the coming weeks.
