The Adam Johnson tragedy has been the biggest story in a busy start to the 2023-24 NHL season, and now, one NHL team has sparked controversy with a questionable social media post.

A big time hit

During the Ducks latest matchup against the Arizona Coyotes, veteran enforcer Radko Gudas laid out young star Clayton Keller, and given how impressive it looked live, it makes sense for the social media team to post it.
Beware the Butcher.

Unfortunately, the caption has drawn plenty of the wrong type of attention to the post, as they're now receiving plenty of backlash.

A tasteless Tweet

The hit was a physical one sure, but unfortunately, the combination of the caption and Gudas' skates coming close to Keller's body meant that it probably wasn't one worth posting.
Given the tragic events in hockey this week, and the anxiety some people would have seeing both of Gudas' skates narrowly missing Keller, I'd hope the Ducks social media team might have slightly more awareness in putting out a post this week with that phrase.

This is just one of the many reactions to the post, and while it certainly wasn't intended to draw this type of attention, it unfortunately has, and should likely be taken down by the team.
