Boston Bruins GM Don Sweeney has officially confirmed captain Brad Marchand's trade fate with the team.
The Bruins are facing many changes, but GM Don Sweeney is firm on one thing and that's keeping captain Brad Marchand with the team until he retires.
Since being drafted in 2006, Marchand has become one of the most notable Bruins, playing over 1,000 games and winning the 2011 Stanley Cup. His dedication to the team earned him the captaincy this past season after Patrice Bergeron retired.
During the Bruins' end-of-season press conference, Sweeney expressed his commitment to Marchand, stating, "He will be a lifelong Bruin."

With one year left on his current contract, Marchand could retire after next season, but he might choose to stay longer. It is uncertain if he will sign a contract extension this summer, but Sweeney is determined to keep Marchand with the Bruins for the rest of his career.
