Detroit Red Wings captain Dylan Larkin's high hit on Chicago Blackhawks forward AJ Spellacy resulted in a brawl and all eyes will be on the NHL's Player Safety Department as fans are calling for a suspension.
The Chicago Blackhawks faced off against the Detroit Red Wings in both teams first preseason game of the year on Wednesday night, reigniting their historic rivalry both on and off the ice.
With players fighting to earn spots on their NHL rosters, the intensity was high. The game saw a brawl break out after a hit to the head on Blackhawks prospect AJ Spellacy.
Though the referee quickly raised his hand to signal a penalty, many felt the hit deserved more severe consequences and it remains to be seen what lies ahead for the Detroit Red Wings captain
