Chicago Blackhawks fans are calling for a suspension following a questionable hit on Connor Bedard from Winnipeg Jets defenseman Neal Pionk.
Chicago Blackhawks star Connor Bedard took a big hit tonight during the team's road game against the Winnipeg Jets. While carrying the puck into the Jets' zone, the 19-year-old was leveled by Jets defenseman Neal Pionk with an old-fashioned hip check.
-
Fortunately Bedard quickly got up & returned to the game without missing a shift showing no signs of injury. However some Blackhawks players were not happy with the hit especially Pat Maroon who exchanged words with Pionk & the Jets.
-
Although Maroon later took a minor penalty for a high stick on Jets defenseman Dylan Samberg it didn't seem to be related to the hit. The Jets failed to score on the power play & the game remained scoreless at the end of the first period.
-
Fans are watching closely to see if the physical play continues in the second period after the hit on Bedard.
