Last night, a scary scene emerged during the Maple Leafs and Blue Jackets game which has raised concerns in the hockey world.
Columbus Blue Jackets Forward Sean Kuraly Leaves Game With Scary Injury
Forward Sean Kuraly of the Columbus Blue Jackets was awkwardly sandwiched between Jake McCabe and Auston Matthews. As Kuraly was rising to his feet, he appeared to get hit in the chest with a puck. Kuraly was able to skate to the bench on his own, but play was blown dead and paramedics were immediately called as he laboured down the tunnel.
Kuraly ended up going to the hospital for tests that came back negative, allowing him to leave.
The Columbus Blue Jackets released a statement regarding the scary incident:
UPDATE: #CBJ F Sean Kuraly was evaluated at Grant Medical Center after suffering an abdominal injury vs. Toronto. All tests were negative and he went home last night.
We don't expect to get further updates until the team is back on the ice after the holiday break.
It's great to see that Sean Kuraly is ok which is amazing news and a bullet dodged.
