After weeks of rumors, Elliotte Friedman has finally confirmed that the Edmonton Oilers have reached a decision regarding Jay Woodcroft.
Edmonton Oilers Part Ways with Woodcroft

Per Friedman's report, the Oilers are opting for a change in their head coach position, despite their 4-1 victory against the Kraken on Saturday night.
"Edmonton is making a coaching change. Jay Woodcroft being relieved of his duties. Thought last nights win would buy some time, but that's not the case."
Amidst the Edmonton Oilers' challenging start to the season, marked by a 3-9-1 record, including a surprising loss to the struggling San Jose Sharks, the team has taken decisive action.
Sitting just two points above the bottom, a concerning position given Connor McDavid's prime, the Oilers are opting for a coaching change in hopes of reigniting their performance.
Jay Woodcroft concludes his time with the Oilers after coaching for parts of three seasons. Over 133 games, he leaves with a record of 79-41-13. The upcoming coach will face a significant challenge, becoming the fifth to lead the team during the Connor McDavid era.
