After the early season struggles for both Jack Campbell and Stuart Skinner, the Oilers have managed to turn things around in net, but it's clear that they still need a major upgrade if they are to be genuine contenders for the Stanley Cup.
While most Insiders and fans have looked at the likes of Carter Hart, John Gibson, Jacob Markstrom, Juuse Saros or others, Frank Seravalli has a very different take.
On the recent Oilers Nation Everyday show, Seravalli of the Daily Faceoff revealed that they should target a familiar face in former San Jose Sharks goaltender and current Detroit Red Wing James Reimer.
To the surprise of absolutely no one, the Oilers fans on social media couldn't have hated this more, and given Reimers play lately with a 3.41 GAA and an .889 save percentage, it's hard to blame them.
This leaves the Oilers in a tough spot, as any goaltender they could acquire for cheap may not be an upgrade over the duo of Skinner/Calvin Pickard, whereas landing a star will require them to move significant assets, so this will be an interesting few weeks and months in Edmonton.
