Edmonton Oilers Reportedly Targeting Two Forwards Ahead Of Trade Deadline
The Edmonton Oilers might not be making any big moves before the NHL trade deadline, but one insider suggests they're eyeing a couple of depth additions.
Oilers Eyeing Two Forwards From The Ducks
According to NHL insider Elliotte Friedman, Oilers GM Ken Holland is considering two players from the Anaheim Ducks in order to improve the depth in the bottom 6 of the lineup.
"Edmonton, they've talked a lot about targets bigger and smaller but I think one of the things the Oilers are doing is looking at some forward depth," revealed Friedman on Hockey Night in Canada. "Not necessarily on the top line but throughout their lineup and I think they have some interest in two players from Anaheim,
Adam Henrique and
Sam Carrick."
Both Henrique and Carrick play center, which could offer the Oilers more options and flexibility in their lineup. It's unclear whether the Oilers are aiming to acquire just one of them or both as a package for the Stanley Cup playoffs.
Friedman noted that while both names have been linked to the Oilers, it's still uncertain if they'll pursue one or both players.
"I don't know if that's both or just one of the two," admitted Friedman. "But both of those names are names that have been linked to the Oilers.
