The Montreal Canadiens have made some roster moves on Thursday afternoon claiming a new forward off waivers and placing one of their own on the wire.
Canadiens Claim White, Waive Gignac
According to Elliotte Friedman, the Montreal Canadiens have claimed forward Colin White off waivers from the Pittsburgh Penguins and have placed Brandon Gignac on the wire.
Forward Brandon Gignac has been placed on waivers with the intention of loaning him to the Laval Rocket, creating space for Colin White on the Montreal Canadiens' 23-man roster.
Gignac, aged 26, played seven games during his initial stint with Montreal, where he netted his first NHL goal on Feb. 13 against the Anaheim Ducks at the Bell Centre. If he clears waivers, the Quebec-native will return to the Canadiens' AHL affiliate. There, he has recorded 42 points (14 goals, 28 assists) in 43 games during the 2023-24 season.
The Canadiens are scheduled to face the Penguins on Thursday at PPG Paints Arena.
