It was reported by Colorado Avalanche journalist Adrian Dater that Scott Masters, a former scout for the Montreal Canadiens, has sadly passed away at the age of 46.
Masters worked as a video coach for the Colorado Avalanche and as a pro scout for the Canadiens. His passing was announced by several league insiders today.
"RIP to former Avs video coach Scott Masters. Scott also worked in the Florida, St. Louis and Montreal organizations."

Masters worked with the Canadiens for seven seasons from 2013 to 2019. Before that, he held video coach positions with the Colorado Avalanche, Florida Panthers, and St. Louis Blues between 2001 and 2013.

He was also a co-founder of Lacroix Hockey and shared his journey to the NHL on the Hockey Minds Podcast. His greatest mentor was Doug Armstrong, a prominent NHL GM who believed in pro scouts and supported Masters throughout his career.
Scott Masters will be greatly missed. Our condolences go out to his family.
