Top Philadelphia Flyers goalie prospect Alexei Kolosov has decided to leave his NHL team and return overseas, feeling alienated and isolated.
AHL reporter Tony Androckitis detailed why Kolosov has had enough with the Flyers. According to Androckitis, Kolosov was often left alone in a hotel room in a foreign country, with no one to talk to for most of the day. This isolation was particularly tough for Kolosov, who struggles with English.
Per AHL source, Alexei Kolosov told #Flyers at the end of his stint w/ Lehigh Valley he did not want to return
"They put him in the hotel by himself & he felt isolated, especially since his English isn't great"

This isolation, along with the challenge of not speaking English well and seeing the Flyers sign another goalie, Ivan Fedotov, to an NHL contract right after his arrival, was too much for Kolosov. He officially wants out of the franchise.

You're ~5,000 miles from home in a different country where you can't speak the native language or communicate with anyone.
