The Pittsburgh Penguins made a huge announce earlier today when they confirmed that Kyle Dubas was hired to be their President of Hockey Operations.
He could have to weight in on some issues as early as today. If not, the Pens could see two of their prospects walk away.

They have until 5PM to sign Santeri Airola and Ryan McCleary, or they'll be free to play anywhere.

Airola was drafted by the Pens in 2019 at the seventh round. The defenseman played all his career in Europe. This season, in Tampere, he scored 22 points in 29 games.
McCleary, him, was chosen at the 194th position in 2021. He tallied 31points in 66 games this season in the WHL.
It's not impossible that the two defensemen reach a deal with the Pens before the end of the day, but it would be surprising.
We'll keep you updated.
