St. Louis Blues head coach Drew Bannister provided an update on Dylan Holloway's terrifying injury after being hospitalized.
Yesterday, a terrible incident occurred in the St. Louis Blues game against the Tampa Bay Lightning.
Even though the Blues ended up winning the game 3-2, they had to watch one of their players leave the game during the first period after a wild incident.
With just over a minute left in the first period, the game came to a halt when Dylan Holloway collapsed on the bench after receiving a shot near the neck area. All players returned to the locker room for the intermission before the end of the period, and added the missed time to the second period.
As for Holloway, he went to the hospital for further evaluation.
After the game, in his press conference, coach Bannister revealed that the player was doing well, he was alert, and his condition was stable.
Here's what he said:
"I think the only way I can put it to you guys (the media) is if you're at work, you get a call that one of your family members is sick and rushed to the hospital," Blues Head Coach Drew Bannister said of his perspective of the injury from the bench. "Holly is a family member. That was a tough. I thought we, as a group, showed a lot of fortitude mentally being able to push through that... We were able to get updates on Holly and kind of put our minds at ease a little bit, and we focused ourselves.
"From what we've heard, he's doing well. It's a good sign."
After losing Broberg to an injury just a few days ago, it was tough for fans to watch the other summer acquisition Dylan Holloway leave the ice after such a scary incident.
Updates will follow.
