A recent report from a Toronto media source has stirred speculation about the future of Ryan Reaves with the Maple Leafs and in the NHL. The report suggests that Brad Treliving, the Maple Leafs General Manager, may take actions that could jeopardize Ryan Reaves' career, especially considering Reaves' recent comments about his health.
According to Luke Fox from Sportsnet, the relationship between Reaves and the team appears to be strained to the point where Treliving might decide to place Reaves on waivers, potentially putting an end to his time with the Maple Leafs and raising questions about his NHL career.
Despite being activated off injured reserve, there are indications of ongoing issues between Reaves and the team. Placing him on waivers would mean another team needs to claim him for him to continue in the NHL. Otherwise, he could be directed to play with the Toronto Marlies in the AHL. Even in the AHL, Treliving could have a say in how much playing time Reaves receives.
