It's no secret the Maple Leafs are actively searching for a top 4 defenseman. Their defensive struggles have been very apparent since the start of the regular season.During an Overdrive interview, Toronto Maple Leafs General Manager Brad Treliving accidently tipped his hand on what exactly he is targeting in the trade market.

It looks like the Leafs are searching not only for a right defenseman, but also a 3rd line center. Max Domi has done a pretty solid job thus far but many wonder is he will be able to keep that up or if Toronto would rather have a more reliable center playing in that position, preferably a 200 foot player that can chip in offensively.
Brad Treliving says the Leafs have already «investigated» trades on D: «Would we like to help ourselves there? Sure. But having said that, what's the cost and what's the availability of players out there that ultimately can come in and make a difference?"
It remains to be seen whether the Maple Leafs could manage to pull it off.
