Toronto Maple Leafs head coach Craig Berube was seen having a public conversation with Mitch Marner today, causing a stir among Leafs fans.
The star winger has been at the center of trade rumors since the Leafs' playoff exit this year.

NHL insider David Pagnotta has mentioned several teams, including the Blackhawks, Stars, Golden Knights, and Predators, as potential destinations for Marner. However, aside from the Predators, there haven't been many other sources supporting these claims.
Keep an eye on Chicago, Dallas, Las Vegas, and Nashville if Mitchell Marner agrees to a trade.
Predators GM Barry Trotz recently dismissed rumors of pursuing Marner. Despite trading defenseman Ryan McDonagh to the Lightning and freeing up $7 million in cap space, Trotz laughed off the idea of acquiring Marner.
I asked Barry Trotz if he'd be interested in acquiring Mitch Marner, with now some $25 million in cap room. His response is pretty hilarious and he shrugged it off as «just rumors.»
