The future of Brendan Shanahan with the Toronto Maple Leafs is now clearer following an announcement from the team regarding an upcoming news conference.

With another early exit from the Stanley Cup Playoffs, speculation has been rife about Shanahan's position. However, it seems we now have a better understanding of his future plans.
According to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman, key figures from the Toronto Maple Leafs, including Shanahan, will address the media on Friday during the season-ending availability.
The Toronto Maple Leafs announce season-ending media availability will involve Keith Pelley, Brendan Shanahan and Brad Treliving — Friday morning.
The inclusion of Shanahan in the conference suggests he is likely to remain in his current role. However, notably absent from the list is head coach Sheldon Keefe, who addressed the media earlier and expressed his desire to continue with the team. However, Keefe acknowledged that such decisions are beyond his control.
Now more than ever I believe in myself and our team in that I will win, and our team will win [...] that decision is out of my control.
The Maple Leafs have faced high expectations since assembling their "Core 4." However, the team has consistently struggled to advance past the first round of the playoffs, falling short once again this season in a seven-game series against the Boston Bruins.
