Sprong is coming off consecutive career-high seasons with Seattle and Detroit. The 27-year-old scored 21 goals in the 2022-23 season while averaging just over 11 minutes per game, earning him a $2 million contract with Detroit last season.
Drafted in the second round in 2015, Sprong became the fourth Dutch player to play in the NHL.
