Ilya Samsonov sends a warning to Linus Ullmark as tensions rise

Samsonov, the former Toronto Maple Leafs goalie, likely still feels bitter about the loss to the Boston Bruins in the first round of the 2024 NHL playoffs. Even though Jeremy Swayman was in net for six of the seven games, Ullmark might have done something to get under Samsonov's skin.

Recently, a post on Instagram ranked Ullmark as the 10th best goaltender, and Samsonov's comment suggests a growing rivalry between them. Take a look:

On November 21st, Ullmark and Samsonov could face each other on the ice when their new teams, the Ottawa Senators and the Vegas Golden Knights, meet.

For this to happen, they'll need to stay healthy, and the teams' goalie rotations will have to align.

Samsonov will be under pressure to perform with the Golden Knights after a challenging time with the Maple Leafs, while Ullmark could be key to the Senators' long-awaited breakout season.
