Evgeny Kuznetsov has left the NHL to play overseas, and he's not holding back about his time with the Washington Capitals and what led to his departure.

Kuznetsov recently shared his experiences with Russian Machine Never Breaks and Sport-Express, revealing that serious health issues during his last year in the NHL led him to enter the NHL/NHLPA Player Assistance Program. In an interview with reporter Alexey Shevchenko from Sport-Express, Kuznetsov disclosed that he was battling rheumatoid arthritis, requiring him to take pills and injections throughout the season.
Kuznetsov most recently shared some time with reporter Alexey Shevchenko from Sport-Express and revealed that he was going through serious health issues during his last year in the NHL that eventually led to him entering the NHL/NHLPA Player Assistance program.

'I had rheumatoid arthritis, I took pills and injections all year,' Kuznetsov said per a translation from Google Translate. 'Then I stopped taking them, it felt good, nothing hurt. I haven't taken anything for three months and I feel great, I run, I work out in the gym.'

Kuznetsov's struggles were compounded by what he perceived as a lack of support from former Washington Capitals general manager Brian MacLellan and others in the organization, contributing to his decision to leave the NHL.
It's no surprise that Kuznetsov chose to move on from the Capitals and the NHL under these circumstances.
