All too often we are reminded just how dangerous hockey can be. Just this season we have seen players suffer serious life-changing injuries and even death. Tonight we had another close call as Jordan Stall took a skate to the face.
Staal Exits Game After Taking Skate To The Face
The Hurricanes captain suffered an extremely scary injury as Martin Fehervary's skate caught him in the face. As we all know, skate blades are extremely sharp and are capable of producing fatal injuries.
Here's another look at the play that sent Stall down the tunnel early.

Luckily, disaster was avoided. Stall miraculously returned to the Carolina bench for the start of the 3rd period.
Good news to start the third period for the #Canes, as Captain Jordan Staal is back after missing the back half of the second.
