Another tragedy has striked and shocked the hockey world after a 17-year-old teen passes away.
17-Year-Old Teen Mikayla McCarvel Passes Away
It's with deep sorrow that we report the tragic loss of 17-year-old high school hockey player Mikayla McCarvel. Hockey Worldwide on Instagram shared the heartbreaking news of her passing.
With heavy hearts and profound sadness we share that our teammate, Mikayla McCarvel, passed away last night. Please keep her family, friends, teammates, coaches and all that knew her in your prayers.
Mikayla, who played 42 games for a Minnesota high school team, succumbed to injuries from a two-vehicle accident three weeks ago, including a severe brain injury.
Our thoughts and condolences go out to Mikayla's family, friends, teammates, coaches, and everyone touched by her presence.
The family requests donations to plant a tree in Mikayla's memory.
