Corey Perry Finally Break Silence And Issues Major Statement
Corey Perry has finally come out of the shadows. He has issued a major statement apologizing to the Chicago Blackhawks after having his contract terminated.
«As a result of my actions, there have been speculation in rumors. I am sickened by the impact this has had on others, and I want to make it clear that in no way did this situation involve any of my teammates or their families. Most importantly, I want to directly apologize to those who have been negatively affected and I am sorry for the additional impact to others it has created. My behavior was inappropriate and wrong.»
Good on Corey Perry for coming out and apologizing to his teammates. It appears he's battling some alcohol and mental issues and we now have confirmation that he has started working with experts in mental health and substance abuse.
It will be interesting to see what the next steps are for Corey Perry and whether his NHL career can be revived.
