In breaking news, former Ottawa Senators head coach DJ Smith has landed a new coaching job in the NHL.
DJ Smith Joins The Los Angeles Kings Coaching Staff
According to insider Elliotte Friedman, DJ Smith has joined the Los Angeles Kings coaching staff.
Hearing DJ Smith is joining the LA Kings as the outside assistant GM Rob Blake referenced today. He and Jim Hiller worked together in TOR
He joins new Kings head coach Jim Hiller where they worked alongside eachother behind Mike Babcock in Toronto at the time.
Smith was brought in to address the vacancy left on the Kings bench when assistant coach Jim Hiller was promoted to interim head coach following Todd McLellan's dismissal on Friday. The Senators parted ways with Smith as their head coach on December 18th due to their 11-15-0 start to the season.
