Ottawa Senators Enforcer Has Been Fined The Maximum Allowable Amount By The NHL
Ottawa Senators forward Zack MacEwen was fined $2,018.23 for unsportsmanlike conduct during Monday's 5-0 loss to the Florida Panthers. The incident happened in the third period when MacEwen received a five-minute match penalty for an altercation with Panthers forward Matthew Tkachuk.
Ottawa's Zack MacEwen has been fined $2,018.23, the maximum allowable under the CBA, for unsportsmanlike conduct during last night's game against Florida.
Following the penalty, 12 players from both teams received 10-minute misconducts in the final 10 minutes of the game.
Senators head coach D.J. Smith acknowledged a lack of maturity in the team's performance. MacEwen, 27, has one assist in six games this season and is under contract with a cap hit of $775,000 through the 2025-26 season.
