The long-awaited salary cap hike is finally here.

After a nearly four-year pause, a significant increase is on the horizon.

NHL Set for $4-Million Salary Cap Boost

According to NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman, the league's salary cap is set to rise to a range between 87 and 88 million dollars.

This change represents an augmentation of roughly four million, up from its present $83.5M cap.

Such an increase is bound to offer teams more leeway, a development general managers are likely to welcome.
