Elliotte Friedman Reveals When Patrick Kane Will Sign Pen To Paper

During the intermission of Hockey Night In Canada, Insider Elliotte Friedman gave us the inside scoop of exactly what we should expect next from Patrick Kane.
Friedman at the intermission says still not clear where Patrick Kane will end up, many have suspected Florida but he has also collected a lot of information on the Red Wings. Decision expected early next week.

"I think we're going to have an idea early this week where he's leaning and what he's going to do," Friedman said on the Saturday Headlines segment of Hockey Night in Canada. "... A lot of us have speculated Florida, there is no question about that. But I believe another team he has collected a lot of information about is Detroit."
However, Friedman cautioned that there are no certainties, given that Kane has maintained a high level of privacy throughout this entire process.
"I wouldn't want to speculate or assert anything definitively, but I do think he has narrowed down his options to a few teams, and we should have a clearer picture early in the upcoming week," Friedman elaborated.
Last week, Friedman mentioned that there were discussions anticipated between the Toronto Maple Leafs and Patrick Kane. However, he expressed skepticism about the likelihood of Kane joining the Maple Leafs.
"I don't anticipate Patrick Kane becoming a Maple Leaf; I think they just wanted to engage in a conversation with him," Friedman stated last Saturday. "I believe he'll figure things out in the coming days."
Kane, at 34, was traded last season from the Chicago Blackhawks, the team that initially drafted him as the first overall pick in 2007, to the New York Rangers. Across both teams, the seasoned forward accumulated 21 goals and 57 points.
Following the Rangers' exit from the NHL playoffs, Kane underwent surgery for a lingering hip injury, expecting a recovery period of 4-6 months.
Throughout his career, Kane has amassed an impressive 451 goals and 1237 points.

Dark Horse Team To Land Patrick Kane

One dark horse team nobody is talking about is the New York Islanders. It's believed Lou Lamoriello is heavily pursuing Patrick Kane and he would be the perfect fit and exactly what they are missing.
Could we see Patrick Kane go from one New York team to the other?
