Tonight's highly anticipated NHL matchup features the New York Rangers and the Tampa Bay Lightning, who are expected to most likely face each other in the second round of this year's playoffs.

Last year, these two teams met in the playoffs, with the Rangers taking a 2-0 series lead before the Lightning came back and won four consecutive games to win the series. This adds an extra layer of excitement to tonight's game, as both teams will be looking to establish dominance early on in the season.

Unfortunately, during the first period of tonight's game, Jacob Trouba of the Rangers suffered a scary injury. Corey Perry of the Lightning came up from behind him and pushed him off balance, causing Trouba to slam his head hard onto the ice. In the video below, you can see the moment when Trouba falls and lays on the ice for a moment before heading to the bench.

After sitting on the bench for some time, Trouba eventually left the game and headed down the hallway to the locker room. As of now, there has been no update on his condition.
