The 2023 National Hockey League Entry Draft could chance the fortune of some franchises in the NHL.
There are multiple possible franchise players in this draft, highlighted by the WHL superstar Connor Bedard.
Bedard took the WHL by storm this season, scoring at a record setting pace and also leading Team Canada to a World Junior Gold.
The sky is the limit for this kid and has already been being compared to Connor McDavid levels.

While no team in the NHL will admit to tanking, we saw back in the end of the 2015 season when the Buffalo Sabres and Arizona Coyotes were playing each other in the final game, the loser was going to have the best odds at drafting McDavid and the fans were actually cheering when their team lost. Sadly, in the end, Edmonton won the lottery again and got him.
Well, with Bedard being the possible next superstar, teams are drooling at the chances to draft him, and with all the bottom of the standing teams completing their season, here are the teams with the best odds of landing the 1st overall pick:
Anaheim Ducks: 25.5%
Chicago Blackhawks: 13.5%
Columbus Blue Jackets: 11.5%
San Jose Sharks: 9.5%
Montreal Canadiens: 8.5%
ARizona Coyotes: 7.5%
Philadelphia Flyers: 6.5%
Washington Capitals: 6%
Detroit Red Wings: 5%
St. Louis Blues: 3.5%
Vancouver Canucks: 3%
If for some reason, Bedard falls to #2, the Senators have a 2.5% chance of landing him, and Buffalo has a 2% chance.
