Sudbury Wolves Under Investigation Following Bounty Accusations
Kashawn Aitcheson, a 17-year-old defenseman for the Barrie Colts in the OHL, made a hard but legal hit on Wolves forward Nathan Villeneuve on January 18th. Despite no penalty being called, Aitcheson ended up fighting Villeneuve's teammate Nolan Collins in the ensuing altercation.
However, the issue didn't end there. Three days later, both teams faced off again, and the Colts learned that there was allegedly a bounty placed on Aitcheson. Concerned for his safety, Barrie decided not to play Aitcheson in that game.
Now, the Ontario Hockey League is investigating the Wolves regarding these accusations.
