The Colorado Avalanche have claimed young defenseman John Ludvig off waivers from the Pittsburgh Penguins according to reports.
John Ludvig was claimed off waivers by the Colorado Avalanche from the Pittsburgh Penguins on Saturday according to Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet.
Last year Ludvig played 33 games for the Penguins recording three goals and two assists. It was his first NHL season, but he spent a lot of time as a healthy scratch, missing 45 games. The Avalanche likely picked him up to add depth to their defense.
Everyone else from yesterday's waivers list cleared.
