The judge in Sean Higgins' case made a decision today on when he could be released.

Last week, Sean Higgins appeared in court, showing no remorse for his role in the deaths of Johnny and Matthew Gaudreau. Instead, he complained about having to stay in jail over a long weekend. However, today's court appearance didn't go as he hoped.
Higgins had expected to be released today, but the judge ruled that he will remain in custody until September 13th. This extra time will allow his attorney and the court to file additional documents.
Higgins, who is still presumed innocent until proven guilty, faces up to 20 years in prison on two counts of vehicular homicide. The tragic loss of the Gaudreau brothers continues to have a profound impact on the hockey community, with tributes pouring in daily.
It was also announced today that Johnny and Matthew Gaudreau will be laid to rest in a private ceremony in New Jersey on Monday, just days before Higgins' next hearing.
