The Philadelphia Flyers are placing former 4th overall pick and 30-goal scorer Ryan Johansen on waivers for the purpose of contract termination.
According to reports, if cleared, forward Ryan Johansen will become a free agent following his contract being terminated.
Ryan Johansen's contract was reportedly terminated due to a material breach, though specific details haven't been released yet.
Johansen plans to challenge the termination, which could lead to a lengthy dispute. However, the Flyers seem ready to see it through.
This season was supposed to be Johansen's first with the Flyers. Throughout his career, he has played 905 NHL games, scoring 202 goals and tallying 578 points.
