Vladimir Bure, the father of Valeri and Pavel Bure, has passed away at the age of 73 after suffering cardiac arrest while swimming in the ocean.

A four-time Olympic medalist, Vladimir Bure earned one silver and three bronze medals in swimming. He also contributed to the hockey world, serving as a strength and conditioning coach for the New Jersey Devils during their Stanley Cup victories in 2000 and 2003. However, he is perhaps best known as the father of Valeri and Pavel Bure.
Pavel Bure, a Hockey Hall of Famer, is celebrated as one of the 100 greatest NHL players of all time. A two-time Maurice "Rocket" Richard Trophy winner and Calder Trophy winner, Pavel had a stellar career with the Vancouver Canucks, Florida Panthers, and New York Rangers.
Valeri Bure, while not as renowned as his brother, had a successful NHL career, playing for the Montreal Canadiens, Calgary Flames, Florida Panthers, St. Louis Blues, and Dallas Stars.
The sports world has lost a remarkable figure in Vladimir Bure-a two-time Stanley Cup champion, a four-time Olympic medalist, and the father of two outstanding NHL players.
Rest in peace, Vladimir Bure.
