Patrick Montgomery, a key player for the Oshawa Generals, has passed away at age 42. His wife, Andrieana Montgomery, also tragically passed away.

A 30-year-old man is facing murder charges after fatally shooting Patrick and Andrieana on Saturday. The crime occurred at 12:35 p.m. Police responded to the scene, but Andrieana had already died in the home, and Patrick passed away in the ambulance on the way to the hospital. Officers confirmed that the shooter was known to both victims.
A personal note from a friend reads:
A personal note:

These are my friends of 30 years going way back to grade 9.

My friends and I are still trying to wrap our minds around this senseless tragedy but I wanna say this: Pat Montgomery was an absolute gem and an @Oshawa_Generals legend.
Patrick played three seasons for the Oshawa Generals from 1999 until 2002, scoring a total of 18 goals and 20 assists during those seasons.

Condolences go out to all of Pat and Andrieana's families. Let's hope the investigation leads to the accused being behind bars for life.
