Jeremy Lauzon dropped Lawson Crouse with one right hand, but the hit that lit up Vegas still ended in a flat 4-0 loss.

The whole thing started with a heavy collision on Nick Schmaltz. Crouse jumped in right away, and the gloves came off late in the second period.
That part was expected.
What came next changed the sound in the building and wasn't expected to be quite obvious.
Let's keep in mind that Crouse is six-foot-four and 214lbs.
Crouse landed a couple early shots, then Lauzon answered with one clean right that put him down on the spot.
That is the kind of punch players feel on the bench.
Lauzon stood over the moment and pulled more noise out of the crowd as he skated away. For a few seconds, it looked like Vegas finally had something to grab.
That is where fights still matter in this league.
They do not always change the score, but they can change the temperature. A sleepy night suddenly felt alive, and the Golden Knights looked like they had a pulse again.

Jeremy Lauzon Gave Vegas Golden Knights a Jolt

Fans love that stuff because it feels honest, raw, and timed for exactly when a team needs a heartbeat.
Lauzon is not in the lineup to run a top-six line or drive the man advantage. He is there to bring edge on the blue line, close gaps, and make life annoying around the wall.
He did all of that in one sequence.
The problem for Vegas was simple. The surge stopped at emotion, and Utah never let it turn into real pressure or second-chance offense.
That is the ripple effect here.
A knockout can wake up a bench, but it cannot fix broken puck support. It cannot clean up entries, and it cannot create finish if the attack is stuck on the perimeter.
Utah stayed composed and closed the door. The Mammoth rode out the noise and finished off a 4-0 shutout, which made Lauzon's punch feel huge in the moment and isolated by the final horn.
Still, this clip is going to travel.
Lauzon gave Vegas a flash of bite, Crouse paid the price for stepping in, and the Golden Knights now head to the next game needing the energy to last longer than one punch.
