Wyatt Johnston gave Glen Gulutzan a scare Sunday, and the Stars bench had every reason to freeze for a second.

The clip making the rounds showed a dangerous moment near Johnston's face, with the visor taking the brunt of it. That is the part Dallas will care about most until there is a firmer update.
In late March, every top-line scare lands heavier. Dallas is 44-18-11 with 94 points, so this is not a club playing out the string.
That record is why this moment jumps past ordinary game chatter.
Johnston is not some depth piece a contender can just patch over for a night and shrug off. When a player that central takes something high, the first concern is simple: get him through the immediate danger.
The good news, at least from the video itself, is the same thing Robert Tiffin pointed to right away. The visor did its job, and that is the kind of detail nobody ignores after a scene like that.
Dallas has built enough this season to stay steady in rough patches.
The Stars have scored 251 goals and sit at plus-50, which tells you this team usually controls the night more than it chases it.

Dallas can't afford a Johnston scare to linger

That is where Gulutzan's bench gets tested.
One ugly moment can rattle a group even when the player gets up, because teammates know exactly what they just avoided.
And Dallas has already earned the right to think bigger than one Sunday shift.
This is a team sitting second in the Central, not a bubble club hoping to steal relevance in the last week.
So the angle here is not the highlight itself.
It is the consequence hanging over it, because any concern around Johnston immediately becomes a bigger Stars story.
That is why the visor matters so much in this case.
Players hate talking equipment until a moment like this reminds everyone how fast a routine sequence can turn nasty.
Dallas has been too strong this season to let panic take over, and the standings back that up.
But nobody on that bench was treating this like nothing when Johnston got clipped up high.

Did Wyatt Johnston's visor just save Dallas from a much bigger problem ?
