Young hockey player arrested following incident that killed a 41-year-old man

There have been new developments regarding the death of 41 year old Andre Bourgeois & an 18 year old hockey player Tyler Totten who has now been arrested.

According to court records, Andre Bourgeois died from injuries after a violent attack on September 22. His obituary lists his death date as September 27.
Fredericton police say the attack happened early on September 22 near the Tannery, an area surrounded by bars between King and Queen streets. Police confirmed that two men were attacked, with one suffering critical injuries.
Tyler Totten an 18 year old Junior A hockey player for the Fredericton Red Wings has been charged with manslaughter after Bourgeois passed away weeks after the altercation.
Three teenagers, a 16-year-old & two 17-year-olds, have also been charged with manslaughter in connection to the incident. Due to the Youth Criminal Justice Act, their names cannot be released, and it is not confirmed if they are involved with the Red Wings organization.
James Faulkner, a spokesperson for the Maritime Junior Hockey League, said the team and league are cooperating with police, adding that the incident is not related to hockey. The Red Wings' general manager, Kyle McAllister, declined to comment. The case has attracted attention in the hockey community as it continues to unfold.
