In exchange, the Devils are reportedly sending a conditional 3rd round pick to the Montreal Canadiens which could turn to a 2nd rounder depending on how much games Allen plays.
The Montreal Canadiens are also retaining 50 percent of Allen's contract which is a big win for New Jersey as his deal runs through next season as well.
