After the request was made public by the veteran's agent, Zadorov was quickly linked to Vancouver, Toronto and New Jersey, but the latest report reveals that one of those teams is now out of the bidding war.
Given that the Canucks are a Pacific Division rival, it makes sense that the Flames don't ideally want to work with them on a deal, but if they offer the best package, it would be foolish of Craig Conroy to completely dismiss them. It appears as though they are also interested in Chris Tanev, so we will see how the process works out with Vancouver leading up to the trade deadline.
However, there's one Canadian team that they are open to doing business with, as former Flames GM Brad Treliving is at the helm of the Maple Leafs, with both parties interested in making a deal happen.
At this point, Zadorov, Tanev or both seem to be on the way to Toronto, but regardless of where the 6-foot-6 defenseman ends up, it won't be Vancouver if this report is anything to go by.
