With NHL training camps set to start soon, the Boston Bruins restricted free agent goaltender Jeremy Swayman is notably absent from the team's roster.

It's not quite panic time for the Bruins yet, but with camps just days away, Boston's apparent number one goalie still hasn't signed. Swayman, who took over as the Bruins' starting goaltender after Linus Ullmark was traded to the Ottawa Senators for Joonas Korpisalo and a first-round pick, remains unsigned and will be placed on the team's reserve list if a deal isn't reached before camp starts.
The standoff between Swayman and the Bruins has become a big topic of discussion, says team captain Brad Marchand, who is confident the situation will be resolved.
"It's a big topic of conversation with the fans and the media, and this is part of the business, and we all are really looking forward to when it does get done and the process is over and he is back with the group. But that's obviously out of our hands and we don't get involved in any of that. So it'll be great when everything gets kind of squared away."
Swayman is rumored to be asking for $10 million per season, which puts Bruins GM Don Sweeney in a tough spot with only $8.6 million in cap space. If Swayman remains unsigned, the Bruins may have to rely on Joonas Korpisalo in goal, a less-than-ideal situation heading into the season.
