It appears the Boston Bruins are finally set to trade their goaltender Linus Ullmark, the 2022-23 Vezina Trophy winner.
With Jeremy Swayman taking on the number one role for the Bruins during the playoffs and Ullmark's contract ending after next season, a trade involving him seems almost inevitable. The Bruins have several needs to address this summer, and trading Ullmark could help solve at least one of them.
At the upcoming draft, Boston only has three picks and none in the first round. They might be interested in acquiring a top pick to replenish their prospect pool.
The timing couldn't be better for the Bruins, as New Jersey Devils' general manager Tom Fitzgerald mentioned in a recent press conference that he's willing to trade his 10th overall pick for a goaltender:
"If we feel it helps us now and in the foreseeable future, then, yes, I'm listening. I haven't gotten anything yet but the more I talk to teams, I say 'Listen, I'm open to moving No. 10, but it's going to have to be something (significant).'"
"Does the No. 10 pick get you that type of player that you can add to the group? It's easy to say, 'Go get so-and-so and then you build from there.' But there are some guys who have different contracts so how are those players going to reprice at. There's a lot to it, but, yes, the focus is on finding that goaltender."

However, other goalies are reportedly available on the market that could interest the Devils, such as Calgary Flames' Jacob Markstrom and Nashville Predators' Juuse Saros. If the Devils opt for one of these goalies, the Bruins could still trade Ullmark for a top-six forward, which they desperately need.
Do you think the Boston Bruins will trade Linus Ullmark to the New Jersey Devils?
