An insider has shared an update on Jeremy Swayman's contract holdout with the Boston Bruins & it doesn't look promising.

Swayman & the Bruins are reportedly stuck in contract negotiations. The 25 year old goalie is seeking an eight-year deal, but the Bruins are not happy with his terms, which is leading to a holdout.
According to a Boston sports radio host, if the two sides can't reach an agreement, one of two things will likely happen: either Swayman's holdout will continue into the regular season, or the Bruins will trade him.
Swayman is asking for a contract with an average annual value (AAV) of at least $8 million. While his performance last season justifies some of the demand, it's a big commitment for a goalie who still needs to prove he can handle the full-time starting role, rather than being part of a 1A/1B goaltending duo.
If I were the Bruins, I'd be hesitant to give Swayman the deal he wants, but they also can't afford to start the season with the situation unresolved. Swayman is proven to be capable of handling at least half of the regular season games & beyond him, the Bruins goaltending future is uncertain.
In the end we will have to wait & see how the situation unfolds. However, this latest update should be concerning for Bruins fans. A continued holdout would hurt the team, but trading Swayman might not bring the return they need either.
