Boston Bruins goaltender Jeremy Swayman is still unsigned just weeks before the season starts, and he recently received a surprisingly low contract offer.

Swayman's contract situation has been a hot topic in Boston, especially after Linus Ullmark was traded to the Ottawa Senators. According to Ryan Whitney, the Bruins offered Swayman a four-year deal worth just $6.2 million per year, which many consider shockingly low for a player of his caliber.

Swayman, 25, played 44 games last season with a .916 save percentage and a 2.53 GAA. If he doesn't sign soon, the Bruins' goaltending situation could become uncertain. Whitney also mentioned that the Bruins haven't responded to Swayman's calls for three weeks, making this situation even more concerning as the 2024-25 season approaches.

Although Swayman may not be the league's top goalie, the contract would make him the eighth highest-paid goaltender based on annual salary. However, it's $1.5 million less than what Juuse Saros of the Nashville Predators earns and only $200k more than Jordan Binnington of the St. Louis Blues, even though many consider Swayman a better goalie.

Rumors of tension between Swayman and the Bruins have circulated since his arbitration case last year. If a deal isn't reached soon, Boston could be facing a significant problem as the regular season nears.
