The Buffalo Sabres made a huge deal to land Bowen Byram at the trade deadline, but now it appears he may be done for the season.

Since arriving in Buffalo, Bowen Byram has been a sparkplug for this team, tallying an impressive 7 points in 16 games played, but now he will officially miss their next encounter with the Washington Capitals.
#LetsGoBuffalo D Bowen Byram will not play tonight vs #ALLCAPS (personal)
With only a few games left on the season, it's unclear what the personal reason is and whether or not he will return, but with the Sabres looking for a big summer and a post-season push in 2024-25, it makes sense if they were to allow him the rest of the season off.
As for tonight's matchup, the Sabres will look to ruin the playoff hopes of an Eastern Conference rival in the Washington Capitals, and with hopes of playing meaningful hockey next season, they will be looking for Byram to be a major leader upon return.
