Connor Bedard Criticizes Hockey Media
Connor Bedard made some interesting comments today that have garnered attention from the hockey media world.
Bedard Calls Out Hockey Media
Few players have received the amount of attention Bedard has from the media since he's been drafted. As one of the most hyped 1st overall picks in recent memory, Bedard has been followed by a flock of reporters and headlines in his young career that technically hasn't even started yet. Today he addressed this, hinting that he isn't the biggest fan of the level of attention he has gotten.
"I'd be so sick of hearing about me if I was a fan. There's been too much stuff on me. I haven't even played in a game yet."
Bedard has certainly been under close scrutiny at all Blackhawks events so far be it team practices or preseason games. The stories have been mostly positive, increasing the already insane level of hype surrounding the 18-year-old center.
Bedard Looks to Crosby For Advice
The league's newest superstar has not been afraid of making it known how much he looks up to one of the league's most veteran superstars,
Sidney Crosby. Bedard has even gone so far as to say that he uses Crosby's model of behavior to regulate himself off the ice.
"Sid talks to everyone he passes by and takes his time with everyone. He's the pinnacle of that, of carrying himself. Of course, on the ice everyone knows how great he is. But I think off the ice and how he handles things there is just as special."
The two superstars were featured on a Bleacher Report segment called "Old Versus New"
