Jonathan Toews had a legendary run as the captain of the Blackhawks. Three Stanley Cups and 1,067 NHL games later Toews is taking time away from hockey. He was considered one of the better captains in the NHL during his time particularly due to their team success.
Now Bedard will look to do the same for the new generation of Blackhawks. Players like Frank Nazar, Kevin Korchinski, and Lukas Reichel will be key parts of the core as well. This season will be a good measuring stick for how far along Chicago has come with the addition of Connor Bedard.
